Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

The Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) used in hair restoration is “autologous,” which means that it is derived from the patient’s own blood. Patients with thinning, but not totally bald, areas would be the best candidates.

PRP injections for the medical treatment of male and female pattern baldness (androgenetic alopecia), are injected into the balding scalp to potentially stimulate thin (miniaturized) hair to grow into thicker (terminal) hairs.

These highly concentrated growth factors in the form of platelets have been shown to generate new hair growth, decrease the shedding of existing hair and help grow thicker shinny, healthier hair.

You see the results such as hair loss slowed down and less shedding. Hair regains softness and brightness and hair grows back thicker and fuller.

The entire process takes roughly 60-90 minutes, and any discomfort experienced is minimal. Because PRP treatments are a minimally invasive, nonsurgical treatment option, no scarring will occur, and you will be able to drive yourself home immediately after the procedure.

Viviscal Professional Supplements for Hair Loss

Viviscal Professional dietary supplements nourish thinning hair and promote existing hair growth from within.

Everyday stress, poor nutrition, age, heredity and damage caused by the environment and over-styling, can impact the health of your hair and lead to breakage and excess shedding. Therefore, it important to ensure that the hair and scalp are healthy, conditioned, and nourished to maintain the ideal environment for healthy hair growth.

If your diet lacks specific nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, or protein, it can affect the condition and strength of your hair.

Viviscal Professional dietary supplements supply vital nutrients to the hair follicle to prolong the hair growth cycle, promoting existing hair growth.

Causes of Hair Loss

Hair loss is caused by a variety of factors in women and men. Whether your hair loss is caused by an emotional, lifestyle or medical factor, it is important to identify what is preventing your body from effectively absorbing the nutrients it needs to grow healthy hair.

Age

In our 20s and 30s, we typically have 615 hair follicles per square centimetre. The number falls to 485 by the time we turn 50, and to 435 by age 80. Each hair also becomes thinner, thereby reducing hair volume.

Stress

In the face of everyday stress, the adrenal gland produces more adrenaline, which can lead to an increase in the production of testosterone and dihydrotestosterone (DHT). If there are not enough other hormones present to counterbalance this, this imbalance can affect healthy hair growth.

Poor diet

A diet rich in protein, vitamins and minerals is essential for healthy hair and hair growth. The hair follicle is a nonessential tissue and, therefore, it is often one of the last parts of the body to receive nutritional substances. Therefore, any long-term deficiencies may lead to premature hair loss.

Smoking

Smoking has been shown to cause poor circulation, which can affect the amount of blood flow available to the hair follicles on the scalp.
